Lirico Spinto Soprano
Ms. Dupree won first place for her district in the Metropolitan Opera National Council Competition and was a finalist and prize winner in the regional Metropolitan Opera Competition. She has won many other awards including First Place in the Regional Leontyne Price Competition in San Francisco and Second in the National Competition in Dallas, Texas. She won First Place in the NATS competition (Division 2) and was awarded a Tanglewood Scholarship.
Her repertoire includes the title roles in Aida, Butterfly, and Suor Angelica. She also sings Amelia in Un Ballo in Maschera, and Leornora in La Forza del Destino.
Most recently Ms. Dupree has been seen in Santuzza in Cavalleria Rusticana, Leonora in Il Trovatore and the title role in La Gioconda.
Her symphonic repertoire includes The Mahler Second and Fourth and Beethoven’s Ah Perfido! Most recently she performed the Mozart Exultate Jubilate with the Albany Community Symphony Orchestra, Kirk Smith conducting.
Ms. Dupree has sung in productions and concerts with the Bregenzer Festspiel in Austria, Goetz Friedrich directing, Eugene Opera, California State Opera Theater, Russian Opera Theater, Center Stage Opera and Danbury Opera Theater.
After taking a hiatus to have a child and work with a new teacher Ms. Dupree returned last June to sing in the title role of Tosca with Center Stage Opera.
Upcoming Ms. Dupree can be seen in concert in Miami with Onyx Opera performing excerpts from Il Trovatore and Aida with tenor Samuel Eudovique as well as in the Role of Leonora in Il Trovatore. She may also be seen in the role of Lady Macbeth with Center Stage in early 2012.
